لا نعرف دلالة ظهور اللواء عباس إبراهيم في المنام، لكن حضوره في الواقع له معنى واحداً: نموذج مثالي، يُدرّس، في استغلال النفوذ العام لمصالح شخصية. وبعيداً عن الضجيج الدعائي الهائل المرافق لتقاعده، نتذكر معكم/ن هنا بعض أدواره وممارساته منذ توليه منصبه مديراً عاماً للأمن العام في عام 2011. وهذه النقاط الثماني ستبقى ناقصة، من دون شك، طالما أنها لا تتناول ثروته (هل تربي الغزلان في قصرك يا عباس حقاً؟) والعلاقات الاستثمارية لعائلته.

استغل عباس إبراهيم نفوذه، في تشرين الثاني 2018، لحرمان زوجته السابقة من ابنها (سنتان وخمسة أشهر في حينها) بالقوة والخطف، مقتحماً منزلها عبر 15 عنصراً من قوى الأمن الداخلي.

كان عباس إبراهيم يعلم بتخزين نيترات الأمونيوم لسنوات في مرفأ بيروت، ويعرف خطورتها. وهو مدعى عليه في القضية، لكن العصابة تحميه.

جنّد عباس إبراهيم صحافيين/ات ومؤسسات صحافية وتلفزيونية، ليس بالحب وحده طبعاً، خدمة لمصالحه ودوره ونفوذه وصورته. لا يطبّلون له ولانجازاته ومعجزاته المتخيّلة فحسب، بل ينقلون الرسائل والمعلومات المضللة، ويقدمون خدمات ومنافع متعلقة بالجهاز الذي يرأسه، كما لو أنهم/ن سماسرة.

سمح عباس إبراهيم وغطى، ابتداءً من العام 2012، اختراق الأمن العام و/أو عناصر فيه آلاف الهواتف الذكية التي تعمل بنظام أندرويد حول العالم، للتجسس على أصحابها، أو/و تحويلها إلى أجهزة تجسس على آخرين، كما كشفت وكالة رويترز في كانون الثاني 2018.

تسبب عباس إبراهيم بأكبر أزمة في جوازات سفر شهدها لبنان، محولاً اللبنانيين/ات إلى سجناء خاضعين لابتزاز موظفي/ات الأمن العام وجشعهم/ن. كان قراراً، أقله، مخالفاً لحرية التنقل وما نص عليه الدستور اللبناني، وأشبه بعقوبة جماعية. وحتى بعد أن شاع دفع الرشى، لم يتهم الأمن العام – بعجائبية لا تصدق – غير المواطنين/ات.

كان عباس إبراهيم وجهازه الأمني يحاربان نضالات العمال/ات الأجانب في وجه نظام الكفالة العنصري، بترحيلهم/ن واحتجازهم/ن في أسوأ الظروف وأكثرها وحشية. ببساطة أكثر، كانا يسهلان استغلالهم/ن.

كان عباس إبراهيم طرفاً رئيسياً في تحويل حياة اللاجئين/ات السوريين/ات في لبنان إلى جحيم، وفي التضييق عليهم/ن والتحريض ضدهم/ن. كما كان له أفضال لا تحصى في بث وتعزيز خطاب مؤامرتي وتهويلي بشأن تأثير وجودهم/ن الاضطراري في لبنان، خدمة لمشغليه.

تذكروا/ن أن عباس إبراهيم، مهما علت رتبته وكثرت صلاته وارتباطاته وكثر مادحيه (ألم تكن هذه حالة «الموظف» الآخر حاكم مصرف لبنان رياض سلامة قبل الانهيار العظيم؟)، ليس إلا خادماً مثالياً وأميناً لناهبي هذه البلاد وقتلتها، وسيجد لنفسه، دائماً، موقعاً في أي زمان ومكان بين حواشيهم. فلا تخافوا/ن ولا تقلقوا/ن.
What we think of the Major General Abbas Ibrahim wherever he is
We have zero knowledge of the significance of Major General Abbas Ibrahim appearing in dreams, but his being present in real life has one meaning: he’s an ideal model, that can be examined, in the exploitation of public authority for his personal interests. Away from the huge propaganda hype coinciding with his retirement, we recall here some of his roles and practices since the moment he assumed his position as the General Director of the General Security in 2011. These eight facts will undoubtedly remain partial, as long as they do not handle his wealth (Abbas, Do you actually raise deer in your palace?) and his family’s investment connections.

Abbas Ibrahim abused his power, in November 2018, to deny his ex-wife access to her son (two years and five months at the time) coercively and by kidnapping him through breaking into her house through 15 members of the Internal Security Forces.

Abbas Ibrahim knew that there was ammonium nitrate stored for years in the port of Beirut, and knew how dangerous they were. He is a defendant in the case, but is protected by the party.

Abbas Ibrahim recruited journalists and TV and press institutions, not only through pleasant ways, of course, as a way to serve his own interests, his role, his authority and his image. Besides constantly glorifying him, and his illusory accomplishments and miracles, they also convey misleading messages and information, and offer services and benefits related to the network he heads, as if they were brokers.

From the year 2012 on, Abbas Ibrahim allowed and covered the penetration done by the General Security and/or organs there, into thousands of Android smartphones around the world, in order to spy on their holders, and/or turn them to devices that spy on others, as revealed by Reuters in January 2018.

Abbas Ibrahim was the reason for the largest passport crisis in Lebanon, turning the Lebanese into prisoners subjected to the extortion and greed of the General Security employees. It was a decision, at the very least, not only contrary to the freedom of movement and what is stipulated in the Lebanese Constitution, but rather closer to a collective punishment. Even after bribing became more prevalent, the General Security – miraculously – solely accused the citizens.

Abbas Ibrahim and his security network were combating the endeavor of foreign workers in the face of the racist Kafala (sponsorship) system, by deporting them and detaining them in the worst and most brutal conditions. In plain words, they were easing the exploitation of those workers.

Abbas Ibrahim was engaged primarily in turning the lives of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon into hell, and in harassing them and inciting against them. He also had countless contributions in broadcasting and promoting the intriguing and threatening speech regarding the impact of their forced presence in Lebanon, in service of his operators.

Remember that Abbas Ibrahim, regardless of how highly ranked he became, and how multiplied his connections, relations and panegyrists got (wasn’t this situation the same with the “employed” governor of Banque du Liban, Riyad Salameh, before the great collapse?), is nothing but an exemplary and faithful servant to the looters and the murderers of this country, and he will always find for himself, at any time and place, a position between their footnotes. Don’t be afraid or worried.
