هل كان رشيد درباس، خلال توليه وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية بين عامي 2014 و2016، أول من فكر بخطر وجود مئة ألف ذكر سوري في لبنان، مدربين عسكرياً، ولا ينقصهم إلا التنظيم والسلاح وتحديد العدو؟ لا نعرف.
لكن الأكيد أن درباس كان أول وزير لبناني يقتحم لاجئون/ات سوريون/ات («رجال ونساء وأطفال») منزله، في المنام، ويطردونه منه. «توجهوا إلي بالقول: بدنا ننام، ثم ما لبثوا أن أخذوا غرفة النوم، ما اضطرني إلى أن أطوي نفسي حتى أنام في سرير للأطفال…»، كما روى لجريدة السفير عام 2015.
Was Rashid Derbas, during his illustrious tenure as Minister of Social Affairs from 2014 to 2016 the absolute genius who first pondered the mind- boggling notion that 100 thousand Syrian male in Lebanon might just be secretly military masterminds, only missing the small details of organization, weapons and picking an enemy?
However, Derbas is certainly the first Lebanese minister to have Syrian refugees (“men, women and children”) invade his home in a dream and kick him out. “They approached me and said: we want to sleep and then swiftly took over the bedroom forcing me to fold myself into a child crib…” as he recounted to Al-Safir newspaper in 2015.
