بذريعة تنظيم حفلة للمثليين/ات، هاجم نحو 15 شبيحاً ملثماً مطعم Cloud 59 على شاطئ صور، فجر الأحد في 1 تشرين الأول 2023.
ووفق ما روت إحدى الحاضرات لـ«أخبار الساحة»، فإن «7 ملثمين دخلوا إلى المطعم وكانوا يحملون العصي والسكاكين، وصاروا يصرخون ويشتمون محاولين طردنا من المكان، قائلين إن السهرة انتهت، فيما كان ينتظرهم في الخارج شبان آخرون يحملون أسلحة».
ورغم أن أحداً من المشاركين/ات في الحفلة لم يتعرض للضرب، إلا أن الشبان عمدوا إلى تكسير أغراض داخل المطعم وإطلاق الرصاص في الهواء خارجه، لتخويفهم/ن. وهذا ما لم ينجحوا به، وفق الشاهدة، إذ بقي عدد من المحتفلين/ات داخل المطعم للدفاع عنه.
ووفق بيان أصدرته إدارة Cloud 59، الاثنين، فإن المطعم كان يحتفل بمرور 20 عاماً على انطلاقته، بمشاركة نحو 300 شخص، مشيرة إلى حملة تضليل وفبركة تبعت الاعتداء بشأن هوية المشاركين/ات في السهرة. فجرى اقتطاع جزء من فيديو، صُور من الحفلة، ونشره على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ومواقع إخبارية بعد إضافة علم المثلية إليه.

Thuggery Reaches Tyre Shores
Under the pretext of organizing a party for LGBTQ, approximately 15 masked thugs attacked the Cloud 59 restaurant on the shores of Tyre in the early hours of Sunday, October 1, 2023. According to one of the attendees who spoke to Akhbar Al-Saha, “7 masked individuals entered the restaurant carrying sticks and knives, yelling and hurling insults, attempting to force us out, claiming that the party was over. Meanwhile, other armed young men were waiting for them outside”.
Although none of the participants in the party were physically harmed, the young men proceeded to vandalize items inside the restaurant and fired shots into the air to intimidate them. This intimidation tactic did not succeed, as some of the celebrants remained inside the restaurant to defend it.
According to a statement issued by the management of Cloud 59 on Monday, the restaurant was celebrating its 20th anniversary with approximately 300 attendees. They also pointed out a campaign of misinformation and fabrication that followed the attack regarding the identities of the participants in the event. Part of a video from the party was edited, featuring the addition of LGBTQ flags, and then circulated on social media and website news.
