ليس «الاحتقان» بين لبنانيين/ات وسوريين/ات طبيعياً، كما تزعم الصحافية ريتا صالح في تقرير نشره موقع «هنا لبنان» (الممول من المصرفي أنطون الصحناوي)، في 16 شباط 2024، بعنوان «النزوح السوري عبءٌ يثقل لبنان».
إذ كتبت «يحتضن لبنان عدداً من النازحين يفوق أي بلد آخر، وتكلفتهم باتت ضخمة على الاقتصاد اللبناني المنهار، بالإضافة إلى تكلفة الطبابة والكهرباء والصرف الصحي واستهلاك البنى التحتية، وغيرها. وفي ظل كل تلك العوامل، فمن الطبيعي أن يشهد لبنان احتقاناً ما بين السوريين واللبنانيين بسبب هذه الأزمة».
«الاحتقان»، كما في هذه الحالة، ليس من طبيعة الأمور. ليس بديهياً ولا قدراً. إنه مقصود ومفتعل، يُدفع إليه لبنانيون/ات دفعاً، بمناسبة أو من دونها.
دليلنا، الأولي، إلى ذلك هذه التقارير عديمة القيمة، التي تنشر على نحو دوري وتعلك كل ما قيل سابقاً عن السوريين/ات من دون أي إضافة. تماماً مثل تقرير صالح هذا. كأن هناك حصة شهرية ملزمة، من التقارير، يجب أن توجه للتحريض عليهم/ن؟

Is it natural for Lebanon to witness tension between Lebanese and Syrians?

The tension between Lebanese and Syrians is not natural, contrary to the claim made by journalist Rita Saleh in a report published on “Houna Lobnan” website -funded by the banker Antoine Sahnaoui- on February 16, 2024, titled “Syrian Displacement: A Burden on Lebanon”.
She wrote: “Lebanon hosts a number of refugees exceeding any other country, their cost has become immense on the collapsed Lebanese economy, in addition to the cost of healthcare, electricity, sanitation, infrastructure consumption, and more. In light of all these factors, it is natural for Lebanon to witness tension between Syrians and Lebanese due to this crisis”.
“Tension”, as in this case, is not natural. It’s neither intuitive nor inevitable. It’s intentional and manufactured where Lebanese people are being aggressively pushed to it, whether prompted by occasions or without it.
Our primary clue to this is these worthless reports, published periodically, regurgitating everything previously said about Syrians without any addition. Just like Saleh’s report. It’s as if there’s a mandatory monthly allocation of reports intended to foment hostility towards them.
